Mahindra and Mahindra Forays into Shared Mobility Space with Glyd
Mahindra and Mahindra is continuously working towards creating a greener tomorrow. To cut down the negative impact caused by the gas-powered engines, M&M has launched Glyd, a premium shared e-mobility platform with its first fleet of 10 e-Veritos.
Dr Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, M&M Ltd., said in a statement, “As the pioneers of electric vehicles in the country, Mahindra has, from time to time, provided innovative and first of its kind e-mobility solutions. Glyd is one such flagship premium e-mobility solution to redefine the in-commute experience of daily commuters. This is our unique step to drive positive change towards a smart, sustainable and experiential daily commute. Going forward we plan to launch multiple e-mobility solutions, across cities.”
Glyd will ease the office-going executive’s commute, supporting several premium in-commute car features such as:
- Car Wi-Fi
- Curated entertainment
- Music content
- Privacy screen
- Strain-free lighting
- Wrap-around headsets
- Rear seat partitions for privacy
Mahindra has collaborated with partners like Vodafone-Idea Ltd. and Cisco Systems, among other service and content providers, to launch the first leg of Glyd in Mumbai. Furthermore, Tata Power has provided the charging infrastructure.
In the initial phase, the facility can be availed from Mumbai’s major business hubs (Bandra Kurla Complex and Lower Parel). However, the plan is to scale up the service in the city and then across the country.
Do you think this initiative will propel the adoption of Electric Vehicles in the country?
