Transforming Talent to Passion with Mahindra AFS
Seizing a chance to work at Mahindra’s automotive business reminds me of the sunrise days where I thrived on the exposure granted as newly inducted manager and had the autonomy to implement novel solutions for the organization.
When I switched to Mahindra AFS, I realized that I have found the craftsman of my career path. Spurring the growth process, AFS always helped me in molding my existing level of abilities into passionate endeavors.
Using this opportunity as a passage to share my thoughts, I was exposed to a variety of experiences in my journey with Mahindra AFS from the year 2007 as a Manager. This role in the automotive sector was fascinating, in line with my interests. The 6 months long onboard training of Mahindra AFS has been instrumental in delivering on the role.
Working in an environment that empowers employees, I was given an opportunity to design and implement a 3 years capability building roadmap for the entire sector! The progress was smooth and the top management was always receptive to fresh ideas. This gave me the joy to chart game-changing avenues for the organization. The enthusiasm of these 9 years has bred zealous work achievements in the multiple roles I have been fortunate to take up. Aiming at capability building in the automotive sector for 3 ½ years, the scope of my profile was enhanced followed by working a year as HR Business Partner for Common Functions at AFS.
My profile was further enriched by working 4 years as an EA for Chief People Officer. And today after 9 years vast exposure and empowerment, I am responsible for HR for Two Wheeler Business. I would say these 9 years were not my working experiences but my grooming period to take on higher responsibilities.
The inspiration that acted to pull me back to Mahindra AFS as a workplace was the empowering environment and the inspirational leadership. Name any employee friendly practice and Mahindra AFS has it. Be it talent management or capability building, we have always been supported to carve meaningful careers within the organization.
One of my moments of greatness will definitely be when I took over HR along with an assignment that did not have a defined role. There were great expectations from business and the 2 year long organizational development years involved redefining the structures, roles and building capabilities across the organization. But now when I look back, it reflects a productive tenure spent in delivering ace quality work.
At Mahindra AFS, there are broadened boundaries for all team members, empowering them to take complete ownership of their domain. The strength of every individual is tapped upon and the results unfold with not a mark less than the targets set.
