Leading farm solutions with Trringo
As farmers grapple with growing productivity woes, they’re offered much relief in one of Mahindra’s trailblazing launches.
The Farm Equipment Sector (FES) of M&M Limited launched Trringo, a mobile app service for custom tractor hiring. After having identified small and marginal farmers in different areas, Trringo enables farmers to rent a tractor and farm implements on a pay per use basis.
The service connects farmers through a location-mapping system with the closest hiring centre based on their farming requirements. It empowers farmers with the right to mechanisation since many farmers find it unaffordable to own a tractor.
The rental business has severely shot up in the backdrop of dwindling tractor sales reported in the last few years. Poor farm productivity and rising production costs, thus, clouded farmers’ hopes. Nipping these challenges in the bud, Trringo has the hopes of the farmer looking up, where it aims to create a digitised space for those wanting to hire tractors and those open to rent self-owned machines.
Maharashtra being an important market, it recently initiated service in the Koregaon and Karad districts of Satara. Given that 90% of rural India lacks internet service, Mahindra’s FES has set up call centres for farmers to place orders round-the-clock.
The tech-enabled model aspires to optimise tractor usage when demand falls lower than usual, for farmers to keep up with seasonal uncertainty. The large funding into this e-venture goes to explain a slew of advantages embracing farmers in their day-to-day activities. Increased productivity, minimised costs, mechanised farming processes are some of the outcomes persevered through Trringo.
The goal to achieve sustainable farmer prosperity is soon to touch success for rural India. Driving rural prosperity, the smart service is designed to bring in sizeable revenues in two key ways: royalty paid by franchisees and commission earnings per machine franchised.
Partnering with the government’s focus to enhance the agrarian economy, Mahindra looks forward to scaling up operations with Trringo in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and other farming states.
Accessible farm mechanisation will be instrumental in ushering in prosperity for farmers. What are your views on it?
